Browse intrusive adverts when browsing the Internet
Although more and more browsers, such as Google Chrome or Firefox, are getting better and better in terms of managing invasive adverts, there's still plenty to be improved in this aspect. That's why adblocker apps are still such popular resources on Android and are downloaded by many users to try to get rid of pop-ups and other annoying elements.
For such purpose, they can download adAway, and Android app that you won't find on Google Play but the APK of which is available on Malavida, ready to be installed on your smartphone or tablet. Although it can be installed on any device, for it to work there's a big must: our phone must be rooted.
A simple and easy-to-use adblocker for Android
This application offers us the possibility to manage the adverts in a customized manner thanks to these functions and features:
- Possibility to block intrusive and annoying adverts.
- Creation of whitelists of web pages.
- Selection of hosts to create blacklists of websites.
Thanks to the latter, we can generate a smart list of pages that display adverts responsibly... on the one hand, because you might be interested in any of those adverts, and on the other because we're all aware that the sustainability of many online projects depends on the income provided by publicity.
Neither can we forget that using an adblocker entails other advantages such as loading web contents much faster and consuming less data, therefore, it can be very useful in situations in which we wish to optimize our data consumption.
An alternative to Adblock Plus with which we can create and organize our own whitelists and blacklists.
The app offers us a simple way to enable and disable our advert protection. In turn, we can also make use of a fast and easy-to-use system to add hosts to blacklists and whitelists.
The only drawback, as we said, is that we can't use this app if we don't have a rooted device. adAway simply doesn't work even if it can be installed without any errors.
Requirements and additional information:
- Requires a rooted device.
- Minimum operating system requirements: Android 4.1.
- The installation of the app by means of the APK file requires the activation of the "Unknown sources" option within Settings>Applications.
With a degree in History, and later, in Documentation, I have over a decade of experience testing and writing about apps: reviews, guides, articles, news, tricks, and more. They have been countless, especially on Android, an operating system...
