The alternative iOS application store to the iTunes App Store
One of the main advantages of Android regarding iOS is the wide range of applications that we can find and download that aren't in Google's official store, without needing to carry out too many complicated operations. iPhone in the majority of cases requires a jailbreak, but not always, as proven by AltStore.
Install apps that aren't in the App Store
It's a store with its own iOS applications that Apple doesn't allow in its marketplace. The truth is that its catalog of apps is rather limited and that for the time being it only allows us to install Delta Lite, a NES game console emulator, and Clip, a clipboard history manager. However, we expect new software to be added sometime soon.
To have this store on your iOS device, you have to follow these steps:
- Step 1: download and install AltStore Installer on your PC to get hold of AltServer.
- Step 2: download and install iTunes, not from the Windows store but using the installer you can find here at Malavida.
- Step 3: connect your iPhone or iPad to the computer, and from Windows taskbar, where the hidden icons are, we have to select Install AltStore on our device.
- Step 4: we might have to authorize the application on our device. You can do so from the settings menu. In turn, if you've got two-factor authentication enabled, you'll have to create a specific password on Apple's site where you can manage everything that has to do with your ID.
Requirements and additional information:
- Minimum operating system requirements: Windows 10.
With a degree in History, and later, in Documentation, I have over a decade of experience testing and writing about apps: reviews, guides, articles, news, tricks, and more. They have been countless, especially on Android, an operating system...
