Amazon's assistant for PC
Cortana is Microsoft's official assistant and no other software integrates better into Windows 10 native applications. However, Alexa, the assistant developed by Amazon, has landed on Microsoft's operating system as it had already done on Android and iPhone in the past, with the advantage that it works better with third-party applications, both games and for online shopping.
What is Alexa for on Windows 10?
The Amazon Alexa assistant allows us to check our calendar, play music or control smart devices such as lamps or speakers through our PC and voice controls. The only con is that not all devices are ready. This is the list of computers compatible with Alexa:
- Acer Spin 5.
- HP Pavillion Wave.
- Acer Aspire 5.
- HP Envy.
In other words, if you haven't got any of the previous PCs, you won't be able to use the handsfree functions but you will be able to resort to the hotkeys. On the other hand, if you want to control any domotic aspect of your home, you obviously need to have the corresponding devices necessary to control those functions.
