Help blind people from your smartphone
Have you ever stopped to think about the difficulties that blind or visually impaired people experience in their daily lives? Something as simple as checking the expiration date of a product or finding out a T-shirt color can be a real challenge.
However, together we can solve these problems. This application is an excellent example.
Lend your eyes to a blind person via live video or be assisted by a community of sighted users.
Community aid app for blind and visually impaired people
Be My Eyes is a free and supportive application that connects blind and visually impaired people with volunteers willing to help them. The developers use the power of technology and human generosity to "bring sight" to visually impaired individuals.
Whether you want to help or need help, all you have to do is download the APK file and register with the program. If you sign up as a volunteer, you will need to enter the languages in which you can help and wait for requests to come in.
Be My Eyes is based on contributing and benefiting from small acts of kindness, so get involved!
The system works with a live video call. The blind person contacts a volunteer to help them perform easy tasks, such as checking to see if they have left the lights on or knowing which button to press on the TV remote control.
This community aid app is entirely free and fulfills an essential function in society. Without a doubt, together, we can make the world a better place. If there is a will, there is a way.
