Take snaps of your meals and keep track of your nutrition
Cal AI Android doesn't seek to be a dietary advice resource, but it does suggest ways for us to maintain our current weight, lower it or increase it. First, we enter our weight, along with height, age and gender. It then automatically generates the nutritional goals that we should be meeting every day. Although we can modify them ourselves.
Compared to other similar apps, what makes this one different is that it allows us to take photos of our meals. In a few seconds, the artificial intelligence analyzes their ingredients and calculates both the nutrients and calories contained in them.
However, it can be inaccurate even when it correctly identifies the food items, depending on what they are. That is why it is possible to add them manually, with their specific values. The other alternatives of scanning the bar code or the label don't work well either.
Artifical Intelligence at the service of nutrition and exercise
Thanks to this nutritional logging in Cal AI APK, we keep track of what we ingest on a daily basis. But also of what we burn through steps taken (when we connect it with Google Health) and of the physical exercise performed (running or lifting weights).
It allows us to record both the duration of the activity and its level of intensity: low, medium or high. It also estimates the number of calories burned.
In the analytics section we can view the pre-set weight goal, our BMI, our progress towards that goal and weekly calorie data.
Although you can download Cal AI for free, you will need to subscribe as a prerequisite to use the camera with food and the rest of the app's functions. It offers a monthly or annual payment plan, the latter with a three-day trial at zero cost.
