Catan Settlers switch to the Pokémon Go format
The famous board game Settlers of Catan goes digital in this fantastic title developed by Niantic, the studio behind Pokémon Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Just like in those titles, the world will transform into a game board thanks to AR.
The world is your game board
Catan World Explorers is the mobile version of the popular board game The Settlers of Catan, albeit with some new features. This multiplayer title uses augmented reality to transform the entire planet into a giant game board.
This title mixes the usual rules of the game with the mechanics of Pokémon Go. Thus, you must harvest, trade, collect resources, collect cards, and construct buildings in the real world while cities and their strategic points become key settlements.
Harvest. Trade. Build. Make the world your game board!
As you roll the dice and explore the real world, you will get resources (wood, bricks, wool, cereals, and minerals), depending on the area where you are. With these elements, you can create construction cards that, in turn, will serve you to get victory points for your side. As in Pokémon Go, there are three colored factions: bears, eagles, and wolves.
The goal is to complete missions and get as many victory points as possible by building cities and settlements with collectible cards. The game offers the possibility of simultaneous local and global competition, temporary events, and lots of sheep.
A new GPS-based strategy game.
On a technical level, this game is fantastic, with excellent 3D graphics and superb gameplay. If you love this classic board game, it is definitely worth downloading the free APK file right now.
