Replace Google Discover news feed with the app of your choice
Google Discover is the Google function that works as a feed of information and various news that we can consult by sliding the main screen of our Android to the right side. It can be quite useful, but many users find it a bit cumbersome, preferring to replace their information with that of other apps or even disable it.
A MOD to customize Google Discover
With this in mind, Kieron Quinn has developed Discover Killer, a MOD that gives the user the option to replace Google Discover with the feed provided by other applications. For example, Snapshot of Google Assistant provides a glimpse of pending tasks of the day or any other information relevant to the user.
The operation would be basically the same as with Google Discover: swipe to the right to access this information. Although much has been improved in the development of algorithms that adjust the information in a personalized way to everything the user needs, as we said, many users prefer an even more personalized user experience.
This customization is one of the advantages of Android, but in this particular case, we are talking about Discover Killer, which is a module of Xposed Framework, so it is necessary to install it on the phone. Any problem? Yes, you will need to have rooted your device.
Once installed, its operation does not involve great difficulty: the user has to choose between Google Snapshot or the app desired to use in this space, and we can preview the result before setting it.
Requirements and additional information:
- The installation of the app by means of the APK file requires the activation of the "Unknown sources" option within Settings>Applications.
