Create virtual copies of your disk units
VHD is the format used for virtual hard drives used in applications of the likes of VirtualBox, Virtual PC or VMWare. In othe words, the so-called virtual machines that allow us to emulate operating systems on our computer without having to install them. Thus, on a Windows computer, we can run different Linux distros, macOS, and even older Windows versions.
Virtualize your own hard drive
Disk2vhd is a simple tool that allows users to virtualize their own hard drive in VHD format. Thus, we can create a hard disk that's the spitting image of our own one where we can install applications or run any kind of procedure that could be hazardous but without putting our operating system at risk.
It's really simple to use as we only have to choose the unit to be virtualized and the destination folder to create the new VHD file. However, we have to point out that the creation process of the virtual unit isn't precisely fast although the amount of time will depend on the size of the hard disk to be cloned.
