An uncensored social network
The message of the ultra-right deliberately confuses freedom of expression with the freedom to express ideas that infringe on the individual freedoms of others. And when homophobic, sexist, xenophobic and hateful messages in general are censored, it appeals to this misunderstood freedom of expression. In fact, its acolytes, who really are hardly friends of freedom of expression in general, cry like children when they are called upon to follow the law.
A social network utilized by fascists
The fascists have lately become quite adept at appropriating concepts such as those previously mentioned or those which are politically incorrect, to try to camouflage this unpleasant reality: they exalt hate and spread messages of it. So, since it's common practice that in social networks like Facebook or Twitter, their accounts are blocked or posts are deleted, they have sought out a place to belch out all their abnormal thoughts. In Gab they have found a place to do just that.
This is a social network whose developers claim it to be the place where you can talk freely (actually it's a place where you can spout bullshit without being told off). It works in much the same way as Twitter, although its posts can be up to 500 characters long. And in reality, anyone who wants to participate can, but a good portion of its users are dedicated to spreading Trump's ideas or those of right-wing parties, like Vox. In short...
