Nowadays, it's quite common to keep the expenditure and income accounts of your home directly on an Excel spreadsheet. Grisbi can help you out in this field with a few simple steps. Furthermore, during the initial configuration, you can indicate whether you want to import data from other programs or files so you don't have to start off from scratch. It's compatible with the following formats:

• CSV: comma-separated values being the most common example an Excel spreadsheet.
• QIF: quicken interchange format.
• GnuCash.
• OFX: abbreviation for Open Financial Exchange.

What is Grisbi?

Grisbi offers you a simple and clear interface for Mac to keep the accounts of your home but you can also use it if you're self-employed or you have a small or medium enterprise. It's not too powerful but very useful for those cases in which there isn't too much accounting to be done. Working with numbers, expenses, income, and all in all, keeping the accounts, is much faster and easier with this program, as it offers you the appropriate buttons so you only have to input the amounts corresponding to each element.
