A battle royale game in 'Minecraft mode'
Battle royale games are in fashion mainly thanks to PUBG and Fortnite. That's why we can now download all sorts of clones and tributes from Android and iPhone stores and we really appreciate that many of them don't take themselves seriously. That's what we could think of Guns Royale - Multiplayer Blocky Battle Royale which takes on the typical Minecraft concept with its pixellated environment and fat-headed characters with a rather comical result.
All versus all... and versus the pixel
The game starts just like many of these games: we're parachuted onto an island and as soon as we touch the ground our life is immediately in danger. So the best thing we can do is carefully explore our surroundings, enter houses to look for weapons and ammo, and equip ourselves appropriately for what is to come.
We can explore different buildings where we'll find all sorts of guns, ammunition, and elements to customize our character. In turn, we can use those buildings to hide, set up ambushes or protect ourselves from the attack of other players. Those players can be real-life rivals as the game has been conceived to be played online or bots, if there weren't enough gamers online to start a game or if we want to play offline (it can also be a good way to practice). These are the main features of this game:
- Online multiplayer battle mode or offline mode against bots.
- Pick up weapons and ammo throughout the map.
- Collect different elements with which you can customize your character.
- Map is reduced progressively.
- Wipe out other players to increase your level.
The game is quite cool to spend an entertaining time on your phone although the controls could be better. Its graphics aren't precisely the best we've ever seen in the history of video games but that's part of its charm. You won't be disappointed if you download the APK!
