A social network for meeting lesbians and finding LGTBIQ events
It is not always easy to meet someone who is concerned about the same things as you. However, new technology has made this task a lot easier. There is now a plethora of social networks bringing together people from all over the world who share tastes and hobbies. Tinder was a watershed moment for meeting and dating apps, and it didn’t take long before other apps appeared offering more or less the same thing. However, Her offers something a little different, in that it is specifically aimed at lesbians and bisexuals who want to chat, meet or hook up with other lesbians.

It works in a very similar way to other applications of this kind. Depending on your profile and location, you’ll get to see other women’s profiles. Swipe the profile to the left if you’re not interested and to the right, if something took your fancy. Each profile will show you the user’s name and age, how far they are away from you, what they are looking for, the friends they have, and their photos. You can also send a friend request or block and report other users. You can chat with other women, but, you guessed it, some of the options require you to take out a monthly subscription, such as being able to see users that have indicated that they like you.
The app also has a filter so that you can more easily find women with similar tastes to your own. The tags that you can configure are:
- Age
- Distance
- Gender
- Sexual identity
- Relationship status
- Last time they were online
More than just a dating app
This tool doesn’t just allow you to meet other women; it also allows you to join interest-based communities and to read social network news. Once you have added your location you will also be able to see local LFTBIQ events and even post your own.
