Having your iPhone, iPad or iPad stolen or lost can be a headache that goes way beyond the financial loss on many occasions, mainly due to the data that these devices usually contain. We use them to store photos, contacts, important events, and reminders marked on our calendar that sometimes are more important for us than the device itself.

Tool to recover backups from iTunes

Thanks to iBackup Extractor, a tool developed by Wide Angle Software, we can explore and extract from iTunes the backups generated by this program each time it has synced the contents of our iPhone, iPad or iPod with our Mac.

It offers us a simple user interface that allows us to browse through all contents that are part of our iTunes backup:

  • Call logs.
  • Calendars.
  • Contacts.
  • Photos and videos.
  • Internet browsing history.
  • Notes.
  • iMessage and SMS messages.

We can select each file individually or recover them all choosing which copy we want to recover.

Backups of your files always accessible.

Take into account the backup of contents will depend on when we've last synchronized our device. In other words, if we last synced a week ago, we'll only be to recover information from before that date, so it's recommendable to do so frequently.

This is a trial version of this software, that also comes along with a version for Windows. As you can imagine, it doesn't offer all the program's features because, for such purpose, you'll have to purchase the full version and get hold of a serial number. It can be worthwhile if you think about the fact that you won't have to worry about your most valuable information because it will be perfectly safe in the case anything happens to your device.
