We cannot be completely sure what the original idea behind the creation of Knuddels was, back in 1999, and whether when it started up its first users really used it as a simple video chatting platform for just meeting other people.

However, we know perfectly well now what this platform, created in Germany, is used for these days – to hook up and share absolutely everything that could possibly come up on the camera of an Android device. On this app, users can go to a large common lobby and then later on to small, more private channels where they can ‘discuss the political situation in Iceland’ face to face with other people from all over the world.
