The classic Metal Slug adapted to strategic card combat
Metal Slug is one of the best 2D action games ever released. The success of its first installment in the mid-90s was followed by its sequels, which have been adapted to different platforms, including Android of course. And Metal Slug: Commander is a new installment but one that reformulates the original concept of 2D action and shooting, taking it into the realm of strategic card battles.
Strategic battles come to Metal Slug
We are going to find the same characters and a graphic section similar to the first titles in the series, but here the combat is not that of a pure arcade, but an almost static fight on a stage on which we will place our soldiers and choosing who and when to fire their weapons or launch special attacks.
As we win fights we will be able to acquire new cards and collect characters, as it will be essential to face hordes of increasingly strong enemies. Of course we will also unlock weapons and powers, such as the mechas that have become little less than the symbol of the game.
It is a game easy to play, but complicated to master and that will appeal to many fans of the original series who want to enjoy it from another perspective, thanks to the fact that it retains many of the original elements: scenes, music, characters...
