Minecraft in the real world
A new revolution developed by Mojang has arrived in the sandbox world. Minecraft's developers have taken their huge hit to the real world by introducing us to Minecraft Earth, a free-to-play AR construction game in which players can make the most of all the tools and materials from this universe but now in their back garden, in the park or even laying in bed.
The Minecraft world in augmented reality
If you give this new crafting format a chance, you'll be able to make the most of different gaming experiences:
- An open world to explore, searching for materials to build and craft objects.
- The possibility to watch how the structures built grow in real-time, both yours and those constructed by other users.
- Games and adventures to be located on the map to allow you to get hold of certain rarer materials.
- The possibility to share creations with other players in order to enhance the social aspect of this universe.
- Minecraft's beasts and enemies are part of the real world and can interact with players thanks to AR.
If 2016 was the year of Pokémon GO, it looks like we're going to fall for the same phenomenon in 2019 and 2020: millions of people wandering around the streets with their eyes glued to their smartphones. Instead of catching Pokémons they'll be crafting and fighting in the Minecraft universe.
What's new in the latest version
- New season 12.
- New wide-angle mode.
Requirements and additional information:
- Minimum operating system requirements: Android 8.0.
