Discover your family history in this family tree
Surely you have ever wondered about your distant relatives, about your origins. Would you like to know where you come from? MyHeritage is the app version of a genealogical platform where you can create your own family tree, upload and share photos, find unknown relatives and search through millions of global historical records. Are you up for a try?
MyHeritage genealogy puts your family history at your fingertips.
Discover your past with the technology of the future
When you start using this tool, the first thing to do is to enter your details and those of your close relatives, including first name, last name and dates of birth and death (if applicable), as well as photos and stories. Once you have started creating your family tree, the app will automatically offer you data and information of interest to you with new connections, records and newspaper articles that may be related to your ancestors.
Explore your roots, find new relatives and make extraordinary discoveries.
In addition, you can search its extensive international database for all documents related to a person's name. In this way, exploring your roots and your family history will become an adventure that you will share with the millions of users of this platform. Three main tools are used for this purpose:
- Smart Matches, a system to relate family trees and connect user profiles to discover unknown relatives.
- Record Matches, a technology that searches for commonalities between historical records and people in your family tree.
- SuperSearch, a powerful search engine for people and historical documents.
On the other hand, you will have all this data available regardless of the device from which you connect. They also offer you a DNA test to discover your ethnic origins for a small fee.
Animate old photos with Deep Nostalgia
Now, MyHeritage has added to its tools a very 'innovative' system, to say the least. We are talking about an artificial intelligence capable of analyzing old photographs of our ancestors and creating short videos as animations in which our loved ones 'come back to life'. The idea is to recreate the previous movements of the person before posing for the photo: changes of expression, neck movements, blinking, etc.
The user will be able to try the service for free and animate up to five photos. If, after trying it out, they want to continue using it, they will have to buy a subscription. And how does it work? It's very simple: just upload the image (for the moment only from the web) and wait a few seconds for the program to analyze the image and show the animated video. The result is surprising and, for many, somewhat sinister, but in any case, it is worth a try.
