App for managing your files on an online server
Currently a large part of our lives is focused on the activity that we carry out on our mobile devices so it is important to protect it against theft, accidents or violations of our privacy. Google, Apple or Amazon have resolved this contingency quite well, at least in terms of information security, but we may not have much confidence in how they manage the privacy of the files they store.
A server to store our most valuable files
We found an alternative in ownCloud, a service that allows us to have a server where to store and manage our information. In this way, thanks to the cloud technology we have a space where we can deposit files such as videos, images, contacts or documents, being able to access them whenever we want from different devices, protect ourselves against possible damages in a physical storage unit or even safeguard our privacy.
The app offers a sober and functional navigation interface that offers the possibility of both viewing (it has both video player, image viewer, text file reader...) and editing what we save. This online file manager conveniently groups all the content according to its format and even allows us to share it with other people by setting access limits.
Requirements and additional information:
- Minimum operating system requirements: Android 5.0.
- The installation of the app by means of the APK file requires the activation of the "Unknown sources" option within Settings>Applications.
