Pencil animations and illustrations

With the arrival of new technologies and 3D animation, many people have forgotten about traditional animation methods. Pencil is a free application that will provide the user with the tools necessary to illustrate in two dimensions and easily animate the drawings. Even though it may seem like a basic way to animate or illustrate, with Pencil it is possible to complete spectacular animations. Pick up your tool and start drawing with Pencil.

Traditional animation

Pencil is a program that follows the traditional animation methods, in other words, with paper and pencil, you will have to draw the characters and objects and then provide them with the desired movements frame by frame. It may seem like hard work but Pencil will offer you practical tools that will make things easier for you. You will have access to a pencil, tools to create polygons, to color in areas, a brush and you can even import color palettes.

Traditional animation software.

Once you have finished creating the drawings, it will be time to animate them. This can be accomplished by means of a timeline at the bottom of the Pencil interface. You will be able to add image layers, video layers and even sound layers, and introduce keys to create the animations.
