Great open source tool for desktop publishing
Tools like QuarkXpress or InDesign are known all over the world because they are a standard for the creation and layout of all kinds of publications, from posters and calendars to newspapers and magazines. Now we have at our disposal Scribus, a completely free alternative to the two aforementioned applications, but this doesn't mean that it has a fewer features than them.
Powerful open source desktop publishing tool
The program's interface is very similar to that of any of the two professional applications and has almost the same features, like editing the contents by means of a vector drawing tool, support for the CMYK color system or the capacity to export our work in PDF format.
Another important function of the program is the one that allows you to drag & drop text and images directly on the editing window, redimension each object separately and print the project with personalized shape and size.
If you are looking for a tool to create any kind of publication, but you don't want to invest anything in one of the commercial applications, download Scribus as soon as possible.
