That the beat'em up genre is oversaturated is more than evident. Luckily, games like Sifu for PC are here to bring fresh air. Not surprisingly, this is a fighting game (kung-fu and martial arts) that is as demanding as it is original and fun.

Revenge is a dish that is served with kung-fu

Sifu is a third-person fighting game that brings two great singularities to the genre. First of all, its tight difficulty and the recreation, cinematic and Hollywood, of a multitude of martial arts movements. Moves and techniques, all of which can be expanded thanks to a flirtatious skill tree. Indeed, this is not a typical button masher. Having to take advantage of our environment and ability to survive.

Second, our character gets older every time we die. The game ends when they reach a certain age. Something that, in return, brings new techniques and increases our strength. On the other hand, it is also possible to unlock certain skills permanently after starting a new game. Something that, together with the dragon statuettes, provides a very interesting roguelike touch.

Artistically, this is a sober, but eye-catching, 3D title that, both visually and sonically speaking, successfully combines elements of traditional Asian culture with others of a more modern nature.

Its gameplay, mainly technical, the progression system and the rogue or RPG touches give shape to a really interesting proposal.

In short, when you download Sifu means playing an explosive cocktail that combines action, a very technical and unique martial arts system, and several RPG components. An update of the beat'em up genre to the current times.
