Retro World War I fights
Historians often highlight the fact that WWI was a war in the trenches. The guys at SimpleBit Studios have used this to design a very cool strategy war game with an awesome retro vibe.
Experience different levels of glorious victories against a bloodthirsty enemy.
A pixelated version of World War I
Trench Warfare 1917 is a strategy game set in the First World War. The first thing that will surely catch your eye is its over-pixelated graphics, which could well be from a computer game of the 90s. However, this detail does not take away a bit of playability; on the contrary, it reinforces it.
Epic defense trench wars that will keep you going for hours!
Trench Warfare 1917 has two game modes: campaigns and creative. In the first one, players can choose between the British, German, French, and Russian campaigns. In total, there are more than 30 missions where you can deploy your troops and execute your strategy to win the war.
The games' development is relatively straightforward, but it will get more and more complicated as you go along. The battles take place in real-time. As you play, you will receive money that you can use to buy new combat units by clicking on the icons at the bottom of the screen. You will start with infantry and will end up unlocking artillerymen, tanks, and powerful weapons.
Moreover, you can choose your army's formation and decide if you want the troops to stay in the trenches or advance towards the enemy. To win at each level, you will have to design different strategies and try new ideas.
In the creative mode, you can create your own level, choosing the difficulty, supported combat units, size of the map, and money available at the beginning. And you can even design the scenario with several elements, which is a super cool feature.
