To begin with, you will have to choose if you want to drive a woman surfer or a man surfer. You can choose your appearance and, as you progress, even build your own surfboard by buying separately each of the elements that you like. The environments of True Surf are tremendously realistic, being able to visit a lot of real surfer beaches, like the one of Pipeline in Hawaii or Jeffreys Bay in South Africa. In addition, it is very cool that you can check the weather forecast and the waves according to the time of day with real data provided by Surfline. Wind, tides, water temperature, height and direction of the waves... A tremendously useful tool for real-life surfers.
The mechanics of the game is very attractive and, what is more cool, very fast. Go to the "surf" section and you can start catching waves. Choose a point in the sea to place your table and touch the screen at the right time to jump over it. Then you will have to try not to fall by sliding your finger up and down as required by the wave. The longer you hold on the board and the better your movements become, the higher the score you will receive, which will help you to level up and unlock new features. A detail that is also very cool is that every time you catch a wave you can see the route you have made and the point where you have fallen through a very intuitive color chart. Undoubtedly, a complete game about the world of surfing.
