To be able to handle your Android with much more freedom you have to be the root user. It is also advisable to install a recovery tool that enables more options than the system's default utility. To make this process easier you can resort to TWRP Manager.

Two of the most popular recovery tools are ClockWorkMod Recovery and Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP). The latter is open source and very easy to handle: it allows us to use touch controls and a keyboard. TWRP Manager makes it easier to use TWRP functions:

- Backup.
- Data restoration.
- Reestablish factory values (wipe).
- Create partitions.
- And many others.
