The lightweight version of Uber
Uber, the most popular alternative to traditional taxis, now offers us its own application for emerging economies with connections and devices that aren't as advanced as in first-world countries. It goes by the name of Uber Lite and consumes fewer resources and data on our smartphone, therefore, being very suitable for low-connectivity areas.
Uber but as easier than ever
How to use it is as easy as ever because we only need to take 4 steps to book a ride with any of the Uber drivers available in our area:
- Step 1: open the application.
- Step 2: confirm our location and indicate our destination.
- Step 3: choose the kind of vehicle we want.
- Step 4: confirm the ride.
Once the ride has been confirmed, you can check exactly the same information that you'll find in the full app, with all the details about your ride including the name of the driver, his photo, contact details, vehicle info, distance to our destination, and estimated time of arrival.
For the time being, Uber Lite is available in countries of the likes of India, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina or Chile. That's basically because it's really important to expand the collaborative economy of all those vehicle for hire services that operate behind investment funds and multinational enterprises.
