Age of Empires, Command and Conquer, Commandos, Warhammer are just some of the sagas that we liked most in the Golden Age of video games when most were all about battle strategy. These days, this genre is still there on the front line and mobile devices have allowed them to refresh and regroup.

Warlords of Aternum, which we would like to introduce you to today, is a turn-based strategy game (just like the aforementioned Warhammer), and was created especially for Android smartphones and tablets, as well as for iOS. Players have to start off by completing a training component in order to understand how the maps work and how the armies move, so that they can then go on to achieve each battle objective.

Objectives in Warlords of Aternum

• Gather and recruit units to form battle-ready troops and battalions.
• Train your army so that it can improve, upgrade and get stronger and stronger.
• Decide which skills each unit needs and which weapons they should take into battle.
• Put together an effective strategy to combat the orc hordes and expel them from your territory.
• Advance in numbers, in order to gain ever more territory from Dunmar.
• Forge alliances if you want to defeat larger enemy forces.

Warlords of Aternum will help you improve your strategical thinking, as you go about developing battle plans in a turn-based game. It is not a visceral, immediate-reaction, knee-jerk game. It’s all about considering how things will pan out later, depending on what you do now.
