The video editor to replace an actor's face with yours
The technology to create deepfakes is becoming more and more advanced, as proven by applications of the likes of ZAO. With the latter, we can replace people's faces with others in videos with rather realistic results.
An editor to create deepfakes on video
This application was born in China and can be used to edit videos, allowing us to place our face on the body of an actor in a movie. In other words, we can become the main character of movies of the likes of The Godfather, Iron Man or any other film you fancy featuring in.
For such purpose, we simply have to choose a photo, insert it into the video, and let the app carry out the replacement in the movie, adapting all the moves. There are still quite a few things to be polished and the results aren't as realistic as we'd like but this technology is still under development and we'll soon see better results. Don't forget that the processing time will depend on the size of the video to be edited.
Without a doubt, it's an app to keep ourselves entertained and have a good time but the debate around the possibilities offered by this kind of video and photo editor is out there, as there's a darker side that has nothing to do with having fun.
Nevertheless, if you agree to the data management policies of the app's developers and you're not too bothered about how they can be used (if you've already used FaceApp, there's not too much more to be concerned about), here's an app that will leave your friends gobsmacked when they see you featuring in their favorite movie scenes.
